About StayFi

StayFi combines IoT and marketing technology for the vacation rental industry (think Airbnb hosts). With our product, vacation rental managers can create a meshable WiFi guest network with a custom-branded WiFi login page that collects guest information. Our software lets them monitor their network remotely and integrates with their marketing tools to help them build relationships with their guests and grow their business.

Over the past 8 years, we’ve built our business from the ground up without the help of large investors. This means we’re growing a sustainable business and we run it independently. We’re a small team so each team member has a big impact on our product and business. And we’re creating tools that our customers truly love.

• You're a senior full stack Ruby on Rails developer with 7+ years of professional experience building and shipping production applications.
• You're a product-minded engineer who takes ownership. You think beyond each task / ticket and consider the broader impact of your technical decisions on the business.
• You write expressive, readable, and maintainable code and hold yourself and others to a high standard through thoughtful code reviews.
• You have a strong command of Rails conventions but know when and how to diverge from them pragmatically.
• You're comfortable navigating and improving legacy codebases, not just greenfield projects.
• You're curious about IoT, WiFi, and building sophisticated 3rd party API integrations.
• You're energized by working on a small team where your decisions carry real weight.

• Write full stack code using Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Tailwind CSS, React and JavaScript, and deploy it via Heroku, Azure and AWS.
• Take ownership of large, complex projects: from scoping and architecture through to delivery in close collaboration with the CTO.
• Identify and address performance bottlenecks, technical debt, and architectural weaknesses proactively.
• Build and maintain robust API integrations with 3rd party software providers.
• Lead by example in pull request culture; writing clear descriptions, giving constructive feedback, and raising the bar for the whole team.
• Contribute to engineering standards, tooling decisions, and best practices as a senior voice on the team.

• You'll work directly with the CTO and CEO on mission-critical projects with real ownership and autonomy.
• Your experience and judgment will directly shape the technical direction of the product.
• You'll have an outsized impact both within our company and across the vacation rental industry in a way that's rarely possible at larger organizations.
